MBBS in Russia for Bangladeshi students

Russia's state medical universities have taught international students for decades and several are recognised by the BMDC and listed with the WHO. The programme runs six years in English, with Russian language classes so that clinical years on the ward are workable.

Cost and living

Tuition of BDT 3 to 4.5 lakh a year with hostel accommodation on campus keeps the six-year total between BDT 28 and 42 lakh — close to the Chinese route and well under a private seat at home.

What to check before you pay

Recognition is everything. We verify the current BMDC list, the WDOMS entry and the university's licence to teach in English before recommending a shortlist, and we never accept an agent's word for a university's status.

Most universities run two main intakes a year, with some offering a third. Applications should start three to six months before the intake you want, because visa processing needs its own runway.

Many universities accept an English-medium academic background or their own placement test instead of IELTS. Where IELTS is required, most bachelor programmes ask for 6.0 and masters programmes for 6.5.
