Study in the UK from Bangladesh

The UK remains the most recognised destination on a Bangladeshi CV, and a one-year masters is still the fastest route to a British degree. The catch is cost: tuition plus London-adjacent living runs well past a crore taka over three years, which is why we spend the first counselling session on budget rather than brochures.

Three routes worth knowing

The full three-year undergraduate degree is the most expensive. A one-year taught masters compresses the cost and comes with the two-year Graduate Route work visa. And for working professionals, a part-time DBA can be completed from Dhaka with short residencies — the same award, without leaving your job.

The Malaysia-to-UK transfer

Students who want the UK degree at a lower total cost often start in Malaysia and transfer for the final year. The certificate names the UK university; the first two years cost a fraction of what they would in Britain.

  • One-year masters, CAS in ten days, visa in three weeks. They rewrote my financial documents twice before submitting because a small mismatch could have cost me the intake.

Questions

UK — your questions answered

Yes, provided the university itself is recognised. We check the current recognition list for every institution before it goes on your shortlist — for medical programmes that means BMDC, and for other degrees the relevant accreditation body in UK.

The budget table above shows indicative totals including tuition and living costs. The exact figure depends on the university, the city and your entry level, and we give you a written breakdown before you pay anything.

Most universities run two main intakes a year, with some offering a third. Applications should start three to six months before the intake you want, because visa processing needs its own runway.

Many universities accept an English-medium academic background or their own placement test instead of IELTS. Where IELTS is required, most bachelor programmes ask for 6.0 and masters programmes for 6.5.

Work rights differ by country and visa type. We explain what your specific visa allows before you apply, rather than after you arrive.

The visa steps above set out the route. Processing usually runs between three weeks and three months depending on the country and the time of year, which is why we file early.
