Ireland is the English-speaking EU option, and its pull is the employer base: the European headquarters of Google, Meta, Apple, Pfizer and Intel are all within commuting distance of the main campuses. A one-year taught masters plus the two-year stay-back permission is a short, efficient route to European work experience.

Where the value is

Because the masters is a single year, the total cost lands close to a UK masters and well under a two-year Australian one. Living costs in Dublin are high — Cork, Limerick and Galway are materially cheaper and host the same multinationals.

Yes, provided the university itself is recognised. We check the current recognition list for every institution before it goes on your shortlist — for medical programmes that means BMDC, and for other degrees the relevant accreditation body in Ireland.

Most universities run two main intakes a year, with some offering a third. Applications should start three to six months before the intake you want, because visa processing needs its own runway.

Many universities accept an English-medium academic background or their own placement test instead of IELTS. Where IELTS is required, most bachelor programmes ask for 6.0 and masters programmes for 6.5.
